Identity and logo design agency for nonprofits and associations

Nonprofit Identity design agency case studies

Nonprofits routinely turn to Elliance to create a new logo or revitalize their identity. Motivations vary: some want to shed an old skin and put on a new one, while others aim to sharpen their focus and distance themselves from their competitors; some simply seek to modernize their image to align with evolving market trends, and a few aspire to broaden their market reach.

A great brand identity is more than visuals — it’s the essence of an organization made visible. It shapes perception, builds trust, and forms lasting connections that drive long-term success. It makes it easy for the customer to buy  into its mission. Make it easy for the sales force to sell its services. It make it easy to build brand equity

Here are examples of three nonprofits that enlisted Elliance to create or enhance their brand identities. These stories showcase a spectrum of experiences, from evolving institutional brand identity to making transformative changes.

Hartford University for Religion and Peace

Occasionally brands have to reinvent themselves because their names have outlived their utility or their products have changed completely from their founding mission. The legendary Hartford Seminary found itself in just this position. Over a century, it had evolved into leading interfaith university of choice in the world, emphasizing interreligious & peace studies education, executive and professional education, religion research with ever expanding global & community partnerships. Elliance delivered.

Higher Education Financial Wellness Alliance (HEFWA)

Rising tuition costs, student loan debt, and the high cost of living make it essential for college students to develop financial literacy and strong money management skills. HEFWA turned to Elliance to redesign its identity to reflect the evolving landscape of financial wellness in higher education, strengthen its brand recognition, and enhance engagement with institutions and students.

Society for Dermatology Physician Associates (SDPA)

To signal a big change, you have to change something big. In response to rising skin cancers due to climate change and aging population worldwide, The Society for Dermatology Physician Associates turned to Elliance to modernize its identity to attract more Gen-X, millennial and Gen-Z members worldwide.

In all the identity makeover projects, of course we also define an institution’s primary and secondary brand colors, fonts, photography styles, communication guide, web style guide, and brand guide.
